The Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo Parade brings thousands of spectators, young and old, to downtown Bonifay on Friday and Saturday afternoon to view many floats, dignitaries, bands, ATV’s, go carts, motorcycles, wagon trains and hundreds of horses. The parade starts at the north end of Bonifay in front of the Piggly Wiggly and travels south on Waukesha Street/Highway 79, turns right on Veterans Boulevard and ends in front of Memorial Field (rodeo arena).
Entry fees for parade are as follows:
- Business/Political and ALL Float Contestants fees are $30.00
- Individual fees are $15.00 for 1 day or $20.00 for 2 days
- ATV, Go Cart & Motorcycles fees are $10.00 for 1 day and $15.00 for 2 days.
- Horseback Riders - Free
A late charge of $5.00 is applied to your registration after October 4, 2011; this also applies if you register the same day of the parade.
Over the years the Rodeo Parade has become known for the thousands of beads being tossed out for spectators of all ages to catch. Beads may be purchased for $40.00 a case at the Holmes County Housing Authority Office.
On Saturday the floats entered are judged in categories of Queen-King-Pageant; Sports-School-Civic Club; Religious-Church-Spiritual; Business-Organization-Political. Each category will pay 1st place $200.00 and if a division has 10 or more entries, 2nd place pays $100.00.
ALL participants MUST line-up at Bonifay Elementary School, west on Highway 177-A, position numbers will be given out at sign-in table after 9:30 AM. You must have your float/car/entry in position by 11:30 AM. If you are late your entry will be placed in back of lineup entries.
